How to bend acrylic
Acrylic can be bent by apply heat to it. Popular trade names of acrylic are Perspex, Lucite and Plexiglas. Some acrylic may need to be annealed after bending to prevent crazing. Acrylic that is made specifically for the sanitary ware market such as Lucite often does not require annealing as it has an additional chemical in it which removes the need for annealing after it has been heated and bent to shape. Line bending machines are available for bending large pieces of acrylic, but the method below will work for small pieces.
